WAY TO “FORGOTTEN OLD TOWN"

Transferring to the countryside – Duong Lam Village

About 44 km from the city center, nestled just a short drive from the bustling heart of Hanoi lies Duong Lam Ancient Village, a serene heaven that transports you to the rustic charm of centuries past.

Cycling to explore

Duong Lam Village still retains the basic features of a traditional northern village that dates back up to 400 years. Prepare your sore muscles because we’re cycling all the way, wandering through the winding alleys, centuries-old houses,  historic temples, and communal houses that have stood the test of time.

Join making a fascinating local treat

Here, locals will show you how to make Che Lam – a not-to-be-missed delicacy cake/dessert. And that’s time to practice! Join a hand with us to make your own Che Lam.

Lunch will take place in an ancient house as the best way to savor the rustic flavors cooked with heart and all local-sorted ingredients, to sense the adaptive gap between the old and the modern. We know that inviting guests to your private home normally means a close friendship, but here in Vietnam, everybody is warmly welcome!

We dare you to say goodbye with a … thuốc lào puff!!!

Before getting back to the capital, would you try one puff of Thuoc Lao – A popular Vietnamese tobacco and an entertaining type of smoking that is an old tradition nowadays and is becoming a habit among the Vietnamese?

Warning: it’s f*cking STRONG!!!!

(Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

These dumplings are filled with shrimp and pork, topped with spring onions, fried shallots, and of course, fish sauce!

Lunch in a Hue Royal Cuisine-style

Hue royal cuisine is a typical imperial banquet, including dozens of meticulous dishes that are virtually appealing and used to serve only the imperial family.

WHY? It’s more like the pinnacle of Vietnamese cuisine due to its sophistication and meticulousness. The essence of Hue royal cuisine is based on the “balance theory” of Vietnamese belief, it’s the balance of yin and yang and of 5-element fengshui, representing in choosing ingredients, preparing, and cooking, its utensils.

Sit straight like a king/queen and experience the royal taste!

A visit to Kien Trung Palace

Just recently accomplished its restoration, let us escort you to admire the architectural, cultural, and historical values of Kien Truc Palace, a part of the treasure of this city: Hue Imperial Citadel. Just that?

Day 6

WHEN - IN - THE MOST LIVEABLE CITY IN VIETNAM

(Breakfast included)

This may be your first time on a train in Asia and trust us, the first time is always special. It’s an experience. Especially on this train, do not just relax because we’re passing through a thousand breathtaking and picturesque sights.

Hold your soul and open your mind because we’re sitting on a coracle boat, floating on the river, weaving into small creeks, and gazing at the rows of green coconut trees in the unforgettable setting of nature.

But why hold your soul? A must-see experience here is the expert performances of the boatmen as they challenge each other to… coracle spinning. The person rowing the coracle rotates 180 degrees in the middle of the waves. This challenge also attracts visitors who want to enjoy a heart-throbbing experience because just a few rotations are enough to impair the senses.

In free time, you can either:

Beaches in Hoi An could be seen as the most underrated beaches in Vietnam although we surely believe that’s worth a visit! Embrace the quality time here and get back to the Ancient Town in the evening.

Again, you’ll have your only-me-time experience with the night vibe of The Ancient Town but not that ancient!
