- At least 7 days – Cover two regions (e.g., North & Central or Central & South) to experience Vietnam the most immersing way possible. .
- 9+ days – Ideal for a North-to-South journey, hitting Vietnam’s most iconic destinations and truly absorbing the essence of a thousand years old land.
- More time? Vietnam has endless adventures—whether it’s a month or more, there’s always something new to discover.

Plan your trip? Considering these big festivals of Vietnam
Since Vietnam’s major festivals bring the country to life with vibrant celebrations, it’s worth considering them when planning your trip. However, these events also mean crowded attractions, busy transport, and higher prices—so choosing the right timing matters!
Here’s what to keep in mind:
- Tết (Lunar New Year, February 17, 2026) – The biggest holiday of the year! A magical time with fireworks, traditional rituals, and festive markets, but expect business closures, fully booked transport, and higher prices. Most businesses close for at least a week, and locals travel extensively to reunite with their families. If you visit during this time, be prepared for a mix of lively street celebrations and quiet empty cities.
- New Year’s Day (January 1st, 2026): Vietnam celebrates January 1st as an official public holiday, marking the beginning of the Gregorian New Year.
- Hùng Kings’ Commemoration Day (April 10, 2026 – Lunar Calendar: March 10) – One of Vietnam’s most significant national holidays, honors the legendary founding fathers of Vietnam.
- Reunification Day & Labor Day (April 30 – May 1) – A national holiday with parades, fireworks, and packed tourist spots.
